Terms & Conditions

Last updated: July2026 · Battisford, Suffolk

Please read these Terms & Conditions carefully before booking. By completing a booking at High Hounds you are confirming that you have read, understood, and agreed to these terms. They exist to keep every dog and person who visits the Dog Park safe, and to set clear expectations for everyone. If you have any questions before booking, please get in touch.

1. Definitions

High Hounds is the name of the business operating a private, secure dog exercise field located in Battisford, Suffolk, referred to in this document as “the Dog Park”.

Customers are individuals who have reserved a session at the Dog Park through our online booking system and have paid the appropriate fee.

Visitors are all people present at the Dog Park during a booking, including adults or children accompanying the customer.

The Operator refers to the owners and managers of High Hounds, or any authorised representatives acting on their behalf.

The primary purpose of the business is to offer exclusive-use hire of the Dog Park directly to customers via our online booking system. Failure to comply with these Terms & Conditions may result in loss of access to the Dog Park.

2. Our Obligations

We will maintain the Dog Park to a standard that ensures the health and safety of all people and dogs using it. This includes regular mowing, inspection of fencing, and prompt attention to any identified hazards such as holes or damaged gates.

Customers and visitors should be aware that the Dog Park is a natural outdoor space. As with any rural environment, natural hazards such as ticks, grass seeds, and uneven ground may be present. We will do our best to manage these, but cannot eliminate all countryside risks.

If you notice any damage, hazard, or maintenance issue during your visit, please let us know as soon as possible. For non-urgent matters, email us at betty@highhounds.co.uk.

We will keep you informed of any relevant changes to the Dog Park, our booking system, or these Terms & Conditions.

3. Safety & Security

The Dog Park is fully enclosed with secure perimeter fencing. It is the responsibility of each customer to inspect the fencing and gate upon arrival and satisfy themselves that it is suitable for their dog before releasing them from a lead. If you have concerns about the fencing, do not release your dog and contact us immediately.

All dogs using the Dog Park must be:

  • Regularly wormed and up to date with vaccinations. We cannot verify this on arrival, so the Dog Park should be treated like any shared outdoor public space in this respect.
  • In good health. Do not bring your dog to the Dog Park if you have any reason to believe they may be unwell or contagious.

Owners are responsible for the behaviour of their dog at all times whilst inside the Dog Park and on the surrounding property. Dogs must be kept under effective control at all times.

Children are welcome but must be supervised by a responsible adult at all times. Children must not climb the fencing or any structures within the Dog Park, which are not designed as play equipment. The Operator accepts no liability for injury resulting from misuse of any fixtures or fittings.

Please wear appropriate clothing and footwear. The Dog Park is a natural grass space which may be uneven, muddy, or slippery in wet weather.

The use of choke chains, prong collars, and electronic training devices is not permitted within the Dog Park at any time. Harsh handling of dogs, whether verbal or physical, is not permitted.

4. Booking

All bookings must be made in advance through our online booking system at highhounds.co.uk. Payment is required at the time of booking by debit or credit card. Walk-in visits are not permitted — you must hold a confirmed booking before arriving at the Dog Park.

To benefit from our cancellation policy, you will need to create a free account when booking. Guest checkout is available but does not allow for self-service cancellations.

Sessions are available from dawn to dusk every day, with sessions starting on the hour. A maximum of 9 dogs is permitted per booking. Our pricing is as follows:

  • 1 – 3 dogs: £6 per 25 minute session, £10 per 55 minute session.
  • 4 – 6 dogs: £9 per 25 minutes session, £14 per 55 minute session.
  • 7 – 9 dogs: £18 per 55 minute session. Two handlers are required for a 7 – 9 dog session.

Each session provides exclusive use of the entire Dog Park — no other customers or dogs will be present during your booked session. Sub-letting of the Dog Park is not permitted. Anyone wishing to use the Dog Park for professional or commercial purposes (such as dog training) must first obtain written permission from the Operator.

5. On Arrival

Please do not arrive before your booked session begins. The previous customer may still be in the Dog Park with their dog, and an early arrival can cause unnecessary stress — particularly if reactive dogs are present. Please wait at your vehicle until your session is due to start.

Do not attempt to enter the Dog Park until it is completely clear of the previous customers and their dogs. If the Dog Park still appears to be occupied when your session begins, please wait patiently. If you have concerns, contact us at betty@highhounds.co.uk.

On entering the Dog Park, ensure the gate is fully secured behind you before releasing your dogs. It is your responsibility to check that the gate is properly closed at all times during your visit.

Vehicles are parked entirely at your own risk. The Operator accepts no responsibility for loss, damage, or theft from vehicles parked on or near the premises.

6. During Your Session

Each booked session is 25 or 55 minutes of exclusive Dog Park time. This includes your arrival, releasing and exercising your dogs, collecting any waste, recalling your dogs, and departing. Please plan accordingly — especially if your dog is difficult to recall.

Your session starts at the top of the hour or on the half-hour (e.g. a 10am session begins at 10:00). You must be clear of the Dog Park by 5 minutes before the next session begins (e.g. by 10:55 for a 10am booking). This buffer ensures a calm transition for the next booking, particularly for reactive dogs.

Why 25 and 55 minutes? The 5-minute buffer before each new session exists specifically to allow the arriving dog and owner to approach the Dog Park without encountering the departing group. This is especially important for reactive and nervous dogs. Your cooperation in vacating promptly makes a real difference.

During your session, please observe the following:

  • Never leave your dogs unattended in the Dog Park. If you need to leave the Dog Park for any reason, you must take your dogs with you.
  • Please do not allow your dogs to dig holes in the Dog Park, as these can pose a hazard to other dogs and people. If digging does occur, please let us know.
  • Do not allow dogs to jump up at or damage fencing or any fixtures.
  • BBQs, fires, and smoke-producing items are not permitted.
  • Please remove all litter when you leave. Use the designated bin for dog waste only.

Fresh water is available on site for your dogs. Please bring any other supplies you may need.

7. Dog Waste

All dog waste must be picked up and disposed of before you leave the Dog Park. Please leave the Dog Park in at least the condition you found it — ideally better. The Dog Park is used throughout the day by families, and uncollected waste is both unpleasant and a potential health hazard.

Dog waste bags and a bin are provided on site. Please do not use the waste bin for general litter.

⚠️ Failure to collect your dog’s waste is grounds for immediate suspension and permanent ban from the Dog Park. We take this seriously and may carry out checks.

8. Departure

You must allow enough time within your 25-minute or 55-minute session to recall your dogs and depart by 5 minutes before the hour or half-hour — for example, by 10:55 for a 10am booking. If your dog is slow to return to the lead, please factor this in and begin recalling them in good time.

Repeated failure to vacate the Dog Park on time will result in suspension from booking. If you genuinely cannot get your dog back, please contact us immediately.

If you arrive late for your session, your session still ends at the same time. No extension will be given for late arrivals. If you cannot attend and fail to cancel in advance, you will still be charged the full session fee.

9. Cancellation Policy

Free cancellation is available up to 24 hours before your booked session. To cancel, log in to your account on our website, locate the relevant booking, and select Cancel. A full refund will be returned to the original payment card. This option is only available if you created an account when booking — guest bookings cannot self-cancel.

Cancellations made within 24 hours of the session start time are not eligible for a refund unless there are exceptional circumstances. In exceptional cases, please contact us in advance at betty@highhounds.co.uk and we will do our best to help.

If you are unable to attend, you may transfer your booking to a friend or family member. Please email us with their name and contact details so we can update the record. It is your responsibility to ensure any substitute visitor has read and agreed to these Terms & Conditions before arriving.

If we need to close the Dog Park at short notice due to weather, maintenance, or any other reason, we will contact you as quickly as possible using the details on your account, and a full refund will be issued. This is one reason why providing accurate contact details during booking is important.

10. Liability

Customers and visitors use the Dog Park and all associated areas entirely at their own risk.

No responsibility will be accepted by the Operator or landowner for any injury, illness, loss, or damage sustained by any person, dog, or property whilst on the premises, except where such injury or damage results directly from negligence on the part of the Operator.

Owners are legally and financially responsible for the actions of their dogs at all times. If your dog causes injury to another person or damage to the property, you may be held liable.

We strongly recommend that all dog owners hold appropriate third-party or public liability insurance cover before using the Dog Park.

As a natural outdoor environment, the Dog Park may contain grass seeds, ticks, and other countryside hazards which we cannot fully eliminate. Please inspect your dog after each visit and consult your vet if you have any concerns.

11. Privacy & Data

In accordance with UK GDPR, any personal data you provide when creating an account or making a booking is collected only with your consent and used solely for the purposes of managing your booking and communicating with you about your visit.

We will retain your contact details in order to notify you in the event of urgent changes, such as unexpected Dog Park closures. Your data will never be shared with third parties without your express permission. For full details, please refer to our Privacy Policy.

12. Restricted Breeds

We welcome all breeds at High Hounds and believe every dog deserves the opportunity to exercise safely. However, owners of dogs subject to breed-specific legislation — including XL Bully-type dogs — must comply with additional requirements before and during their visit.

If you own a dog of a restricted or exempted breed, please contact us before booking at betty@highhounds.co.uk to discuss the requirements that apply. These requirements are set by our insurance providers and exist to protect the safety of all visitors.

XL Bully-type dogs — additional requirements

  • Your dog must be registered on the Index of Exempted Dogs (IED) and hold a valid public liability insurance certificate. You must provide copies of both documents to us before your first visit, and must have received our written acknowledgement in return. You may not use the Dog Park without this prior approval.
  • The dog must be neutered and microchipped with up-to-date owner details, in line with current legislation.
  • The maximum ratio is one restricted breed dog per handler at all times. A single handler may not bring two XL Bully-type dogs.
  • If dogs from different households are present, or if you are unable to ensure full control, the dog must remain muzzled and on a lead at all times in the Dog Park.
  • Please pay particular attention to the arrival and departure timing rules. Never attempt to enter the Dog Park while another booking is in progress.

Anyone found not complying with these requirements will be immediately suspended from use of the Dog Park. If you have questions about whether these rules apply to your dog, please contact us before booking.

13. Amendments

High Hounds reserves the right to amend these Terms & Conditions at any time. Any changes will be published on this page with an updated date. Continued use of the Dog Park following any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated terms.

If you have any questions about these Terms & Conditions, please contact us at betty@highhounds.co.uk before making a booking.
